The Rohit Sharma-led India produced a splendid bowling performance to bowl New Zealand out for 205 in response to their 250-run target. Player of the Match Varun Chakravarthy was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 5/42 in 10 overs, bamboozling the Kiwis with his mystery spin.

The result meant India registered three straight wins to end on top of Group A with six points. They will thus face the Aussies, who finished second in Group B with four points, for a place in the Champions Trophy final.

India will aim to avenge the painful loss in the 2023 ODI World Cup final, which was the last time the two teams met in the 50-over format. In the previous five clashes, India have won three while Australia emerged victors in two.
