The Germany skipper, whose existing deal was due to expire at the end of the season, has put pen to paper on fresh terms at the Allianz Arena, where he will remain until June 2029.

Kimmich has won eight Bundesliga titles with Bayern since joining from RB Leipzig in 2015, along with the Champions League and Club World Cup.

The Wimbledon champion was knocked out of the U.S. Open in the second round on Wednesday, defeated by Elena-Gabriela Ruse 6-4, 7-5.

The midfielder has made 429 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 43 goals and registering 114 assists.

Kimmich is the latest player to commit his future to Bayern, with Manuel Neuer, Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies also renewing their contracts last month.

"At Bayern, I have the best environment to achieve my sporting goals," the 30-year-old told the club's official website. "That is what my decision was based on.

"For me, at the moment, there is no better package of team-mates, coaching staff and club environment in order to achieve maximum success. I feel at home here, and I am not finished yet."
